


Below are some Frequently Asked Questions......Hopefully the answers will help new guests.
One of the most common questions I have heard, and something people worry about before
their first visit, is if the Grand Floridian is kid friendly. YES!!! It is amazing for children. The
Grand Floridian has several kids programs and activities & the Cast Members enjoy children.
My daughters have always been very welcomed and treated like princesses. The Grand
Floridian is their favorite resort. We have had many magical family vacations at the Grand.
1. Are the pools heated?
Yes, the pools are heated to 82 degrees.
2. What are the pool hours?
The Beach Pool has seasonal hours....often open from 10 until 8 pm.
The Courtyard Pool is open 24 hrs, with lifeguards on duty during the daytime.
3. Is there a hot tub?
Yes, near the Courtyard Pool.
4. Is there a kiddie pool?
Yes, near the Courtyard Pool. The Beach Pool has a zero depth entrance and fountains
for kids to play in. The Beach Pool has the waterfall and water slide, also.
5. How do I reserve a cabana?

6. Can you swim in the lagoon?
NO. Swimming is NOT allowed in Seven Seas Lagoon.
7. How is the water slide?
It's a fun curving slide down and around the rock formation into 3 feet of water.
8. Can you order lunch at the pool?
Yes, you can order private dining, or order from the bar, or walk over to Gasparilla's
and bring lunch out to eat poolside. No glass is allowed on or near the pool deck.
9. Are there any activities at the pools?
There are daily scheduled activities near the pool areas for kids.
All kids are welcome to walk up and join in.
10. Are there towels at the pool?
YES, there are towels in the pool area for guests to use.
11. Are there life vests at the pools?
There are life vests at the pools and at the marina. They come in several sizes and are
free for guests to borrow.
12. Is there Hair Wrapping at the Pool?
Yes, around noon the hair wrap station opens. Payment is CASH ONLY. No room charges.
1. I booked a Garden View Room.....where will I be? What are the views?
There are Garden View Rooms in all of the buildings except Sugar Loaf Lodge and the Main
Building, which are both concierge. The views that are considered garden views are either
gardens, pools, or views of the marina. Check the map on the home page for layout of lodges.
2. What building is best for a Magic Kingdom view?
Rooms at the ends of Sago and Conch have the most direct castle views. Boca Chica has nice
expansive views across the lagoon and include views of the Contemporary and the
Polynesian and a few good castle view rooms. There are some Theme Park View rooms in Big
Pine, also. I would prefer Sago or Conch.
3. What type of rooms are in the main building?
There are only concierge rooms in the main building. These include standard & deluxe
concierge rooms and suites.
4. What is a Lodge Tower Room? What views do they have?
Lodge Tower Rooms can be found in each of the outer lodge buildings. These rooms are in the
turrets. They include two queen beds and a sofa sitting area in the turret with a 2nd TV.
These rooms have garden views and sleep 4. The upper level Lodge Tower Rooms do not have
balconies. This is a bookable category -
5. Are the rooms noisy? Can you hear the people in the room next to you?
I have never found the rooms overly noisy. Sometimes you can hear the people in the room
next to you through the connecting door, however it is not overly noticeable. You can
request a room without a connecting door.
6. Do all the rooms have a balcony or patio?
Yes, with the exception of the top floor Lodge Tower Rooms &the Turret Suites in the main
building. There are a handful Theme Park View rooms that have two balconies.
7. Are there any king beds?
There are rooms with king beds. These are request only and the rooms sleep 2 people. If you
want to BOOK and guarantee a room with a king bed, that would be a deluxe king club level
room in the main building and it comes with concierge service.
8. How large are the rooms?
The rooms are approximately 440 square feet.
9. How spread out is the resort? Will it take a long time to get around?
the resort is on 44 acres and looks large on a map, however it is very nicely laid out and
nothing is more than a few minutes walk away.
10. Can I get bed rails or a crib?
You can have either. Request your preference with housekeeping once you arrive.
11. Can I request a microwave?
There are a limited number of microwaves and they are available on a request basis. Call
housekeeping from your room. There is also a microwave in Gasparilla's for guests to use.
12. Are there refrigerators in the rooms? Are there mini bars in the rooms?
There are refrigerators in all the rooms. The rooms no longer have mini bars.
13. What are DORMER ROOMS?
Dormer rooms are on the top floors of the lodges. They have the high pitched ceilings and
the solid balcony railings. They are a few feet smaller than standard rooms but make up for
that in charm. The high ceilings make these rooms feel large and airy.
14.If I book a Garden View Room can I hear the people in the pool?
When the sliding doors are closed the room is quiet.
15. What is the maximum number of people in one room?
Most of the rooms at the Grand Floridian have 2 queen beds and a daybed and sleep 5 guests
and a child under 3 in a crib or pack and play.
16. Where are the suites located?
There are suites in the main building and in each lodge. All suites come with concierge service
and access to a concierge lounge.
17. Are there DVD players in the rooms?
Only the concierge rooms and suites have DVD players. The concierge staff have a selection
of DVDs guests can rent.
18. Are there hair dryers in the rooms?
Yes. They are stored in the closet.

1.How do I reserve a cabana? How Do I reserve childrens activities?
The Beach Pool Cabanas are something unique to the Grand Floridian. No other WDW resort
has cabanas to rent. The cabanas are available only to guests of the Grand. You rent them by
calling 407-

2. What is the best place to watch Wishes?
There are several great viewing areas at the Grand Floridian. If you can't see Wishes from your
balcony, the area in front of Gasperilla's is perfect, the MK boat dock is another nice spot,
and if you are lucky enough to have a dinner reservation at Narcoossee's at the right time, you
can see Wishes from the deck or your table.
3. Where can I see the Electrical Water pageant?
There are nice views from the beach area and from the Magic Kingdom boat launch. The EWP
runs between 9 and 9:15 pm. The views from the Grand Floridian are not as good as the direct
views from the Polynesian beach. There is a lighted path to the Polynesian if you want to walk
over. It is a nice leisurely 10 minute walk.
4. How do I get to the Magic Kingdom? Epcot? Disney's Hollywood Studios?
Animal Kingdom? Water parks? And Downtown Disney?
The Grand Floridian is one of the three monorail resorts. The monorail takes you to the
Magic Kingdom and to Epcot. There is a boat that runs back & forth from the Magic Kingdom
for an alternative. There are buses from the Grand Floridian that take guests to the other
parks and Downtown Disney.
Some people do not care for the Disney buses. There are cabs conveniently sitting out in front
of all the resorts and parks. That might be another option.
5. What is turn down service? Do I have to request it?
Turn down service is a nice little luxury at the end of the day. The housekeepers
e into the
room between 5 pm and 9 pm and turn down the beds, empty the trash, fill the ice bucket, leave
fresh towels and toiletries and chocolates. It is a standard service at the Grand Floridian.
6. How early can I check in?
You can check in as early in the morning as you would like. Your room probably will not be
ready, though. You can store luggage with bell services and return to the hotel later.
Official check in is after 3 pm. Check out is before 11 am.
7. If I want to send a package to myself, how do I do that?
Address the package to the registered guest and "care of the Grand Floridian". Include the
check in date on the package. Ship it UPS or Fed Ex and keep the tracking information with you.
8. How do I get to the golf course?
If you are a Guest at the Grand Floridian, stop at the Valet desk for a voucher for a cab, and
then after you play, you get a voucher for the trip back to the resort.

9. What type of toiletries does the Grand Floridian provide?
The Grand Floridian provides H2O Spa products. They include shampoo & conditioner, lotions,
shower gel, bath soap, hand soap & glycerin soap.
10. What is Private Dining?
Private dining is the Grand Floridian's 24 hour room service. However with Private Dining,
you can order food to be delivered anywhere on the Grand Floridian property.
You can prearrange a private dinner with a butler, or a spontaneous poolside lunch,
or order a celebration cake. Call 407-
11. How is the parking? Is there valet? Or is there self parking?
There is self parking in a remote lot -
Floridian, and there is valet parking for $11/day.
12. Does the Grand Floridian offer laundry service?
Are there any washers and Dryers?
The Grand Floridian does have a laundry service. There are bags, lists & prices, and
instructions hanging in the closets. All the lodges except Sugar Loaf have 2 washers and
dryers. Conch is the nearest to Sugar Loaf.
13. Is there a food court?
There is not a "food court" but a 24 hour fast food type restaurant, Gasparilla's Grill. You
can choose food made to order, or quick grab and go items from the coolers.
14. Are the restaurants appropriate for children?
All the restaurants -
family friendly and all have children's menus. Victoria and Alberts has an age minimum of 10
years old.
15. Is there any childcare offered?
There are several childcare options. The Mouseketeer Club at the Grand is fun for kids.
There is also one on one in room child care. Reservations for both are required in advance.

16. I want to order a surprise for my family. Can it be in the room when we arrive?
Anything you order will be at the front desk. You can request it at check in, or request it be
delivered to your room once you have checked in to your assigned room. IF you are staying
concierge, then there IS a possibility that you can have a surprise waiting in your room.
17. Is there a playground?
There is no playground at the Grand Floridian. Kids can enjoy the white sand beach, pools,
jumping fountains at the Beach Pool and the kid's activities.
18. Is there an ATM?
There is a Chase ATM just off the lobby near 1900 Park Fare.
