Rooms at the Grand Floridian Resort
can often be booked with a discount. The most common
discounts are found through AAA or by having a Disney annual pass.
AAA discounts are a percent off the nightly rate. That percent can be
10% to 20% depending on the season. The annual pass discounts are often
a set amount of money off the nightly room rate. I have seen $75 to $100 off
the nightly rate in past years. You will find the most savings if you can travel in the off
seasons. See The 2009 Categories and Rates under "Accommodations" for information
on how the room rate varies with the seasons.
There are a limited number of rooms that Disney discounts with AAA and APs and codes, so
you have to be proactive on booking in order to get the discounted rates. Disney releases
a chunk of AAA reduced rooms in late summer to early fall for the following year.
Annual pass rates come out periodically throughout the year.
Disney also releases Disney Visa discounts that might include WDW room
discounts and also public codes that may be used for rooms or
vacation packages at the Grand Floridian.
If you have an annual pass, you can log in and will be able to view

Disney also offers discounts every so often for Disney Visa holders. Usually these discounts are later
opened to the general public. These are usually letter "codes" that you need to know when you call to book.
With room only reservations you will have to put down a one night room rate as a deposit. For packages
the deposit is $200 and the total package balance must be paid in full 45 days in advance of check in.
A room only reservation is paid at check in. There are differences in the cancellation policies between room only
and package reservations. Room only reservations can be canceled up to 6 nights prior to check in. Packages have a
45 day window for cancellation. I personallyprefer to book room only reservations, however many people enjoy the
convenience of a package amd knowing the trip is prepaid. You have to weigh the pros and cons of each type of reservation.
